Stay Full Of God

Encourage yourself in the Lord! Feed on the Word of God and embrace a change in thinking. This section of the website provides you with a list of both Christian and secular psychosocial articles, books and motivational songs you can use to seek out more information on and motivation for living with Christian values in a secular world. The transition from a rehabilitation center to life back in society is difficult. While you are building a new social network and waiting for it to fill up your schedule, spend extra time building your relationship with Jesus Christ (John 17:3). Stay focused on learning to apply the Word of God as you wait patiently through the time it takes form new social groups who share your values. Consistently implementing healthy habits in thinking and in doing, both in private and public, need to be positively reinforced socially if you expect to achieve and maintain a new normal lifestyle in Christ (one where you are no longer dependent on anything other than God).
A new perspective gives birth to confident risk taking that will push you through to goal achievement (Krueger Jr, N., & Dickson, P. R. (1994)). Other secular psychologists agree. Sweetman, D., Luthans, F., Avey, J. B., & Luthans, B. C. (2011) say, “psychological capital … defined as efficacy (self-worth), hope, optimism, and resilience … adds creativity and innovation to the decision-making process which in turn yields more positive outcomes in regard to performance” (p 5). Read more about how a will-directed decision (from your heart) transforms you into a new creature in Christ; see Appendix 2U; ShinE !
The word definitions were taken from the Merriam Webster dictionary. The Biblical references used in CYNN came from the English Standard Version (ESV), the New King James Version (NKJV) and the New Living Translation (NLT). Another popular Bible you may want to investigate using is called the "Life Recovery Bible" by Stephen Arterburn and David Stoop (using the New Living translation). It is designed to inspire you to trade unhealthy dependencies for a new life in Christ. It includes devotionals specific to the 12 Twelve Step AA program, the 8 steps of the Celebrate recovery program, it reviews the Serenity Prayer, and features Recovery Profiles from the lives of key Bible people.
